TELEVISION INSTRUCTIONS:
The main reason for TV’s not working is due to cords being moved around. Please check all cords are pushed in correctly.
Checking Cords:
- A cord should go from the FOXTEL Box to the Sensor and be at the front of the TV for the remote to work.
- A cord should go from the Foxtel box to the power source (powerpoint)
- An antenna cord should go from the Foxtel box to the antenna outlet (these can sometimes be switched around which can cause it not to work as there is two places it can be plugged).
- A cord should go from the Foxtel box to the TV
If this does not fix the problem generally the source of the output has been changed. The TV may have been taken off the correct HDMI setting. Buttons on the side/bottom of the TV may allow you to change it back to correct one to display the Foxtel home page.
Tv’s operate using the Foxtel Remote.
There is a secret button to the right hand side of the on/off button that is a resets which you may be able to try.
Unfortunately if none of these options work please advise Reception during office hours who will contact our FOXTEL representative.

The very beginning
110 million years ago volcanoes were active in what was to become Australia, and slow but steady movements of the earth’s crust were breaking up the super-continent Gondwana (which originally included present-day Australia, as well as South America, Africa, New Guinea, New Zealand, India and more).
The Whitsundays lay in a geologically active zone, where volcanic activity continued for 37 million years. Explosive eruptions threw rock and ash into the air to rain down on the surrounding land. Layers of volcanic debris built up and gradually formed a solid bedrock. Today, this bedrock, composed of ash and rock fragments ‘welded’ together, can still be seen (e.g. on Whitsunday and Hook islands). This hardened rock appears as a smooth greenish grey to brown, and is worn away by saltwater wave action.
Later, less violent volcanic activity injected lava flows into gaps in the bedrock, creating upright bands of darker rock, known to geologists as ‘dykes’. Examples of these can be seen on Hook Island.
The Whitsunday Islands
At the end of the last ice age (10,000 years ago) the glaciers melted which caused the sea to rise. The rising sea level drowned a mainland mountain range in the Whitsundays, leaving the higher coastal peaks as islands, which are now known as the 74 Whitsunday Islands.
The Traditional owners of our land
We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the lands in our region. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge their ongoing relationship and connection to Country.
Within our local area, the Ngaro People inhabited the Whitsunday Islands and coastal areas stretching from Cape Conway and down as far as the mountains to the east of Proserpine. They were a seafaring tribe known for their distinctive three-piece canoes, crafted from ironbark.
The Gia People inhabited the area around Proserpine.
First Europeans Discover The Whitsunday Islands
On the 4th of June year 1770, Captain James Cook on the HMS Endeavour was the first European to discover the Whitsunday Islands by sailing through the Whitsunday passage on ‘Whit Sunday,’ marking the Sunday of the feast for the Christian festival Pentecost. Captain Cook made particular note of the outrigger canoes used by the local Ngaro people. During his time Captain Cook made essential discoveries and named islands and bays.
The Island Resorts
Tourism first started in 1923 when Angus Nicholson began a small lodge for visitors on Lindeman Island, from here it took time but later in the 1900s, the Whitsunday islands resorts became a tourist boom. Opening Dates on these resorts are as follows
Daydream Island – Started as early as 1932 Paddy and Connie Murray who bought the island in 1932 for two hundred pounds, erecting six tin sheds for accommodation and renaming it Day Dream after their yacht.
South Molle Island Resort – Primarily used for sheep and cattle grazing until a resort was built in the 1950s
Hayman Island Resort – Opened Royal Hayman Hotel in 1950
Long Island Resort – The resort was originally developed by the tourism company Contiki in the mid-1980s.
Hamilton Island – The birth of Hamilton Island as a tropical island resort came in the early 1980s. Keith Williams originally owned and operated Hamilton Island between 1975 and 1996, when he gained government approval to commence the development of the Hamilton Island marina, followed by construction of the resort in 1982.
History of Pinnacles
2002 – The complex was built by Sharpe Developments. The same developer who built other known Airlie Beach complexes such Water’s Edge, Toscana, Azure Sea and Sereane.
13th April 2003 – Pinnacles welcomed their first guests.
28th March 2017 – Cyclone Debbie impacted the Whitsundays. The storm is estimated to have caused 3.5 billion dollars in damage to our region.
